The short version: Use Pact to track real commitments. Don't abuse the service. If you pay for Pro, you get the features listed. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms. Questions? Email pact@polsia.app.

1. Agreement to Terms

By installing Pact in your Slack workspace or accessing makepact.co, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using Pact on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use Pact.

2. Service Description

Pact is a Slack application that enables teams to create, track, and fulfill mutual commitments. Pact is operated by Polsia and accessible at makepact.co and through the Slack App Directory.

The service includes:

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Pact. By using Pact, you represent that you meet this requirement. Pact is designed for use in professional and team contexts within Slack workspaces.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Pact complies with your organization's policies and any applicable Slack workspace rules.

4. Your Responsibilities

As a user of Pact, you agree to:

5. Subscription and Billing

Pact offers a free tier and a Pro subscription at $10/month per workspace.

Free tier includes limited pact creation and core commands for your workspace.

Pro tier unlocks unlimited pacts, tracker integrations, and priority support. Billing is a flat monthly fee per workspace — not per seat.

Subscription terms:

6. Acceptable Use

You may not use Pact to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of this section without notice.

7. Intellectual Property

Pact and all content, features, and functionality (including but not limited to the software, design, text, and graphics at makepact.co) are owned by Polsia and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of the content you create using Pact — your commitment text and pact data belong to you. By using Pact, you grant us a limited license to store and process that data solely to provide the service.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond what is necessary to use the service.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Pact is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Polsia disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

Your use of Pact is at your sole risk. Pact is a Slack application and depends on Slack's continued operation — we make no guarantees about third-party platform availability.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Polsia and its operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or business interruption — arising from your use of or inability to use Pact.

In no event shall Polsia's total liability to you for all claims arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of Pact exceed the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim (or $10 if you have not paid anything).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Polsia and its affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

11. Termination

You may stop using Pact at any time by uninstalling it from your Slack workspace. Active Pro subscriptions should be cancelled separately to stop future charges.

We may suspend or terminate your access to Pact at our discretion if we determine you have violated these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.

Sections 7 (Intellectual Property), 8 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 9 (Limitation of Liability), 10 (Indemnification), and 13 (Governing Law) survive termination.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we'll notify workspace admins via Slack message where reasonably practical.

Continued use of Pact after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Pact shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules.
